- COMPULSORY
BASIC TRAINING
Anyone who wishes to ride a scooter or motorcycle as a learner must
complete Compulsory Basic Training. The CBT course that we provide is
five hours consisting of approximately three hours off-road training.
This will give you an understanding of the scooter/motorcycle and how
to control it as well as some knowledge of safety and equipment.
The final two hours are on-road and are closely supervised with radio
contact between two learners and one instructor. At the end of this
time if the instructor feels you are ready to ride on your own, you
will be given your CBT Certificate. If however, you need further training
this will be booked.
|
- TRAINING
FOR YOUR FULL LICENCE
If you wish to train further and obtain a full licence (and remove the
'L' plates from your machine) you need to take a further test in one
of the three licence categories, detailed here.
From 1 February 2001 anyone wishing to take a motorcycle test must hold
a valid Theory Test Certificate. You will need to telephone the DSA
to book this and fees will apply. Please see Useful
Numbers and Links for further details.
